New Stuffs and some actual WORDS

Well, hope everyone had a great weekend, sucks that the work week begins again for me in about 8 hours! We went out to the in laws for Easter dinner yesterday, and today was a catch up on sleep day, had a nice three hour nap this afternoon. I have been feeling so crappy for the last three weeks and it's really kicking the crap out of me. My ear has been ringing for the last week and a half, and cracking and popping for the last two days, I've been stuffy on and off and have been hacking and coughing throughout. I went to the doctor the other day but he says it's just a recurring virus (or different viruses) and gave me some antibiotics to take if I'm not better by next week. I'm so tired of being sick! Three weeks is a little excessive, but it does feel like it's starting to let up, so hopefully by the end of the week I'll be back to normal. I did up an Easter card using a new kit by Lliella, this kit was so frigging cute! I actually used the QP freebie on her blog and cropped it to 5X7, and added my title and our names and the date, but I love it and I bought the kit too!The kids are doing great, the dayhome they have been going to is awesome, it's the same one Chase was in before I had Rayna, and they both are doing well. Chase is doing lots of crafts and Rayna is doing her own thing I guess. She has good naps there in the afternoons, and comes home pooped anyways, so I think that's a good thing that she's played out! Work has been challenging, as I learned the system they were working on for three weeks and then they brought a new operating system in, and it really wasn't ready to go. For invoicing purposes, it has been a nightmare. None of the customer coding was right, the prices were all coming up wrong, and it has been a real learning curve for everyone in the entire company trying to just fix the errors so we could do our jobs properly. We were about two weeks behind all month and the other girl in invoicing and I have been working weekends to try and get caught up, last week I put in 51 hours! Plus coming home to the kids and scrapping. SO needless to say, my house is a wreck, and I'm pretty behind on everything in my home life! My next task will be to get our tax stuff in and done. I'm really looking forward to a scrapbooking weekend retreat that my sister has put together, a few of us girls are going to rent a hotel room for the weekend, and do some scrapbooking, maybe go to a movie or two, and just have some child-less fun! My husband told me I need to have the taxes done or I can't go, so you better believe that tax stuff will be the big project for this week! Other than that I'm pretty boring, I still need to update my book blog, which has been sadly ignored, and I have a baby blanket I need to get put together ASAP, as my sister in law had a baby girl two weeks ago, and there will be a shower and I won't be remotely close to being finished! Anyways, that's the latest chit chat, here are the new kits for the week from Scrap That Idea, I have some from Kathy Winters and Dream Big that I'll probably post tomorrow, I'm runnning out of time so tomorrow's post will be for them!! But in the meantime, check out the April collab kit called Step into Spring from STI:
And my layout (**template by the digichick blog):Vicki also has a new kit out, called Forever. I can't even begin to tell you how much I love this kit, the papers are beautiful, and I'm so in love with my layout, it's one of my all time favorites. I also really love the alpha in this one:
my layout (**template by Anna, photo texture by Shadowhouse Creations)Stacey has a new kit out this week called S is for Spring, and she has a contest going on over on her blog, I think you have to guess what the "T" is for, for the next alphabet kit, so make sure and head over there for that! You could win the next kit if you guess right! She's also having a contest on her facebook fan page, all you have to do is become a fan, and you could win one of her kits! Check that out too :)
My layout:
And Mel has a new kit out this week too, I love the colors in this one, the black with all the bright ones is so pretty! It really catches my eye, and I love the textures on the black paper too. She has the Splatz full kit, and mini kit as well:
My layout (which uses bits from the mini as well) (**template by Kaiser):
You can view each page individually here and here for a closer look :)
Well that's all til tomorrow! Have a great week, and as always, happy scrapping!

Twilight

Ok, so here it is, the big one, the one I've been waiting for....Sara's new kit, Twilight. I ♥ this kit! I loved playing with it, loved the papers, the elements, the alpha's (yes, there are two!), I loved all of it! Did you notice my new blog design? I used this kit to do it. I had so many Twilight photos I wanted to use, I just kept doing layouts! Wanna see? You know you wanna... This first one is with the "Family Portrait". Anyone know where this photo originated? I first saw it on http://www.faceinhole.com,/ which is just a fun site for wasting time putting your face on Pamela Anderson's' body. This was one of the scenes you could put your faces into, so I searched on flickr, and found it, but have no idea if it was from a photo shoot for a magazine or what the heck. Doesn't really matter anyways, I'm just curious. I love it though. I am extremely curious too if that is the actual girl that will play Renesmee? I have to admit I got the idea for this layout from a photo of Twilight I saw somewhere (and I don't remember where) but Edward was sort of erased from the photo. Since New Moon is right around the corner, I decided to do this layout. (Anyone else as excited as I am for the movie to come out?) I seriously don't want to see the movie with a bunch of 13 year olds though. Bad enough watching Twilight and during the kiss scene they were all squealing, it was so annoying. I don't remember ever being like that as a teenage girl, but maybe I was and just didn't realize! The font I used was Be Safe. This is quite possibly my favorite layout, I just love that red paper, it really brings out her eyes lol. The feathers were perfect, and I love those ribbons too! Also, it's nice that the alpha is included in metal and in white, great for different layouts.Ooooh, and who could forget the Volturi?? I realized after I did this one that I forgot the blond one (not sure which characters play who, and I didn't care enough to go looking hehe). I know the bottom two are Jane and Alec, and the top one is Aro, but is cloaked guy Caius, or Marcus? Very sinister. AUGH! 39 more days til New Moon. And here is the whole kit! It really is great, and I know the other girls on the CT did layouts that didn't have anything to do with Twilight, so this kit is very versatile as well. And of course, the kits are on sale for the first 48 hours for only $3, so go grab this kit (click on the preview to be directed to the store)!! Sara also has a freebie add-on on her blog, so go check it out!

Happy scrapping! (Oh, and on a side note, the fantabulous Nancy made me another blinkie, and she made it to match my blog design!! Isn't it great??? I absolutely love it, so thanks again Nancy!!)

Girly Girl

Hey everyone! Vicki has a great new kit out! It's called Girly Girl, and here is what I did with it, my sweet baby girl turned one this month, and her dress totally matched this kit! The font is DJB Angel Baby by Darcy Baldwin, and I also used photo overlays by Lynne Marie Designs. And I also did a boy layout, using Girly Girl!! Leave it to me lol. Chase has really started wanting to read, and when I don't have time, he simply says, "I'll just read it to myself" which is totally funny as he's only 4 and isn't quite there yet. He sure makes up quite the story as he goes through the pages though! I think in this shot he realized I was taking his picture, hence the tiny frown hehe. Ahh, the life of a child of a scrapaholic (which also = photo taker-holic). I used my hand stamped alpha by Michelle Coleman for the date tag, and Pea Krisby Funky for the journalling. And here is the kit in it's entirety. Isn't it lovely?? It's on sale as well for the first 48 hours for only $3 so click on the preview to be directed to the store! Til next time, happy scrapping!

E is for Exercise

So Stacey has a new freebie kit out, in her alphabet series. This one is called "E is for Exercise" and it is great! So many cute elements for sports, exercise, weight lifting, weight loss, health in general. Here is a preview of the whole kit:I did a layout using photos of my brother in law getting ready for a bodybuilding competition called Muscle Beach in 2004. The large letters are from one of the two alphas that comes in the kit, the tiny letters in between are the font Adler. The other journalling font is DJB journal bits. And I am so far behind in my project 365 that I think I'm ahead!! These photos are from March (and oh how my baby has changed since then!!). I saw this great multi-photo frame in there and figured I could get one of these layouts done for this project. I'm hoping to get them done in time to get the albums done up for Christmas, but I don't know for sure if that's gonna happen! The top journalling is DJB Journal Bits again, and the date below is actually the other alpha! This kit has so many uses!
So what are you waiting for? The kit is free, so you better hop over to Stacey's blog to grab this kit while you can!!

Beware the few racy photos...thought it was worth it to see all the other ones!
